Lucas Pouille offered France its 10th Davis Cup in Lille in front of his home crowd and became a national hero. France began Sunday's final day being 2-1 up in the best-of-five tie, but David Goffin levelled for Belgium by beating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 6-2. Lucas claimed victory for his country with an impressive 6-3 6-1 6-0 win over Steve Darcis. He hold his nerves during what was one of the most important match of his career and delivered a perfect performance. It is the 1st title for France till 2001 and it was celebrated wildly by the 27,000 spectators at the Pierre Mauroy stadium in Lille. After the match Lucas said "When Jo lost I was crazy in my head and I was like 'go on, play your game, try to beat him'. This is a feeling from another world. There are no words needed, just look at the atmosphere and hear the emotion right now. I am so proud, we really wanted this trophy. After 16 years, we finally got it, I'm very happy." At only 23 years old, Lucas is part of the team which is the 2017 tennis world champion..
